PLANNING & CONSULTING

The Kane County ROE can provide free assistance for individuals and/or committees, either at the ROE or at your school or district site, to help you:
  • Develop your school or district technology plan
  • Plan for hardware or software purchases
  • Plan the wiring of your school or district
  • Plan staff development for technology
  • Plan how to integrate the use of technology into the instructional program
  • Evaluate and plan for technology staffing needs
  • Critique a technology grant opportunity and plan for writing a grant application

TRAINING

In addition to a host of technology workshops, courses and other professional development events sponsored by the KC ROE, we can also help you with staff development at your site. Some of the other possibilities are:
  • Help you to access & select outside consultants and trainers for use in your schools
  • Provide and/or conduct staff development for technology use, ie. Internet training
  • Provide and/or conduct staff development for integrating technology & Instruction
  • Provide and/or conduct staff development for technology planning & decision making
  • Providing training for district technology coordinators

OTHER SERVICES

Besides consulting, planning, and training services there are a number of other ways that the KC ROE supports Kane County educators with technology. If you have ideas for ways we can assist you, please contact Director of Technology Phil Morris. Some possibilities include:
  • Monthly meetings with district technology coordinators to ensure effective communication, needs assessment, planning, and delivery of technology service
  • Presentations about technology for administrators and teachers
  • Discussions and ideas about future directions for learning technologies
  • Arranging county-wide technology purchases to maximize buying power
  • Providing access to information about technology grant & funding opportunities

Online Courses

We provide timely and relevant support to educators in their journey to meet the ever-increasing demands of teaching and leading through a variety of synchronous and asynchronous online workshops. All offerings provide participants with research-based, relevant resources and help address the critical issues facing educators today. 

 

Through these opportunities, educators are empowered to make immediate and long-lasting changes in their professional practice to help increase student achievement while also meeting their social and emotional needs.

 

Administrator Academies

By statute, every administrator must complete a minimum of one approved academy annually and a minimum of five in each administrator certificate renewal period. 

 

The Illinois Online Academy provides a range of online academies that meet this criteria while providing research-based strategies to help you on you journey. Topics range from combatting educator burnout, meeting and presentation tips, restorative practices, and more.
