Resilience-Supportive Schools Illinois (RSSI)
Led by the Illinois State Board of Education and supported by Regional Offices of Education across the state, RSSI provides free and voluntary support for schools to assess and improve current policies, procedures, and practices through a data-informed approach to address the health and wellness of your students.

Schools can benefit from an intensive focus on mental health supports or SEL, while others may benefit from incorporating more trauma-responsive interventions or culturally responsive, anti-racist and equitable practices into their school community.

All participating schools will be given access to a free digital school-specific snapshot based on the survey results and other publicly available data, including the 5 Essentials Survey.

Empowering Every Student for the Future

Today’s students are tomorrow’s innovators — and every learner deserves access to the skills that will shape their future. We offer districts the free opportunity to build a sustainable, equitable computer science program through the nationally-recognized Strategic CSforALL Resource & Implementation Planning Tool (SCRIPT).

Our certified facilitators guide your leadership team through a structured, collaborative process to create a comprehensive vision and roadmap for computer science education. Together, we help you:

      • Develop a shared understanding of what high-quality computer science looks like across grade levels.
      • Identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities within your current curriculum, staffing, and resources.
      • Create an inclusive, rigorous, and sustainable plan that ensures all students—regardless of background—have access to meaningful computer science learning.
      • Align your district’s goals with Illinois’ Computer Science Standards and national best practices.

Whether your district is just beginning its computer science journey or ready to expand existing pathways, our SCRIPT facilitation process provides the structure, support, and inspiration to make Computer Science for All a reality.

As an approved Learning Partner through the Illinois State Board of Education, we offer support for continuous school improvement. In this partnership, we collaborate with you to develop an effective plan that aligns with your school or district’s mission and vision. Then, we work to establish district-wide systems of data analysis, progress monitoring, and leadership coaching to build your team’s capacity to guide continuous improvement initiatives.

Building Strong Leaders for Stronger Schools

Great schools begin with great leaders. Research consistently shows that, beyond an effective teacher, an effective principal is the single most important school-based factor influencing student success.

Our New Principal Mentoring Program is designed to equip first- and second-year principals and assistant principals with the tools, confidence, and support needed to lead with purpose and impact. Our model blends personalized coaching, professional networking, and practical problem-solving to help new administrators thrive—not just survive—their first critical years in leadership.

Through this program, participants will:

      • Receive one-on-one coaching from experienced, certified mentors who have successfully led schools and districts.
      • Align leadership practices to their district’s mission, vision, and strategic goals while honoring the unique culture of their school community.
      • Develop strategies for effective communication, collaboration, and decision-making that foster trust and shared purpose among staff and stakeholders.
      • Balance leadership and well-being, ensuring sustainability and focus in a demanding role.
      • Build a professional network of supportive peers and mentors to serve as thought partners throughout their leadership journey.

This program isn’t just about compliance—it’s about connection, confidence, and capacity-building. We’re here to help new leaders turn challenges into opportunities and lead schools where students—and staff—flourish.
