Over the years, there has been increased use of technology in the classroom. The advances of technology into the classroom is great, but sometimes, all the different tools can become overwhelming.

To help, the Kane County Regional Office of Education has created a bi-weekly series called #TuesdayTechTip to cover pertinent topics such as Zoom, wifi, social media, security and more.  These videos are designed to help navigate through the technology world and everyday tech issues in a user-friendly way. 

ILLINOIS ONLINE ACADEMY

It’s licensure renewal season, and Illinois educators have until June 30 to meet their professional development credit and administrator academy requirements to complete the process. The Illinois Online Academy is an option to consider as we enter the summer months, with asynchronous offerings and content that is relevant to your learning journey.

HOW TO RECYCLE TECHNOLOGY IN KANE COUNTY

As technology advances, some devices, eventually become obsolete and need to be disposed of properly. 

Kane County’s recycling program has two locations that accept electronics and other items year-round. In celebration of Earth Day, Phil Morris will provide details on where and how you can recycle tech in our area!

Administrator Academies

By statute, every administrator must complete a minimum of one approved academy annually and a minimum of five in each administrator certificate renewal period.  

The Illinois Online Academy provides a range of online academies that meet this criteria while providing research-based strategies to help you on you journey. Topics range from combatting educator burnout, meeting and presentation tips, restorative practices, and more.
