TECHNOLOGY

The Kane County Regional Office of Education provides technological assistance and mentoring for school districts and has developed systems for ROE procedures that are used statewide. Monthly meetings are held with technology directors to allow for collaboration, needs assessments, and to share information from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

Technology staff also provide technical support within the ROE to maintain connectivity to the ISBE electronic systems, including Teacher Certification, Administrators’ Academies, and GED/HiSET, and technology implementation at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.

Our Technology Department has served by:

  • Creating an online registration system for workshops with digital encryption used by multiple regional offices of education
  • Providing consultation for the Kane County Human Resource Consortium online application
  • Maintaining LiveScan fingerprint equipment for new school personnel
  • Hosting specialized training for school districts
  • Providing technical support for IARSS (website, listservs, troubleshooting)
  • Facilitating meetings of Technology Directors and System Administrators
  • Hosting area technology staff and vendors at annual TechBash
  • Developing, maintaining, and supporting Health Life Safety and Compliance systems used by all regional offices in the state and accessed by every district and school in Illinois (over 3,500 buildings and 38 educational service agencies)
  • Hosting and maintaining the Online Truancy Referral Systems for eight regional offices of education
  • Producing a bi-weekly video series, Tuesday Tech Tip, to provide free strategies for everyday technology use

Administrator Academies

By statute, every administrator must complete a minimum of one approved academy annually and a minimum of five in each administrator certificate renewal period.

The Illinois Online Academy provides a range of online academies that meet this criteria while providing research-based strategies to help you on you journey. Topics range from combatting educator burnout, meeting and presentation tips, restorative practices, and more.
