Kane County ROE Launches "The ROE Link," a New Video Series Making Local Family and School Resources Easier to Find
Bi-weekly episodes connect parents, students, and educators to county services and community organizations
GENEVA, Ill. – Finding local educational and support services in Kane County just got simpler. The Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE) has launched The ROE Link, a new video initiative aimed at making local resources easier to find and directly connecting families, students, and educators with essential local programs.
Each episode spotlights an ROE program or a resource from a community organization and explains what it does, who it serves, and how to access it. Topics include juvenile justice education, professional development, and local family assistance. New episodes will be released bi-weekly on the ROE’s YouTube channel and shared through its newsletter and social media channels.
“Families and educators often tell us that while help is available, knowing where to start or who to contact can feel overwhelming. The ROE Link breaks down those barriers by putting a human face to essential services across Kane County — from mental health support and early childhood care to specialized student programs,” said John K. Jonak, Kane County Regional Superintendent of Schools. “Our motto is lead, assist, inspire, and this series demonstrates how our office shows up for the Kane County community every day so no family or teacher has to navigate these challenges alone.”
The first episode is available now and serves as an introduction to the ROE itself and how the motto lead, assist, inspire shapes everyday work
The next installment, arriving September 8, marks Attendance Awareness Month and looks at how consistent attendance shapes student outcomes. It covers the support available to families facing barriers to getting to school, along with the tools and interventions educators can use when a student’s attendance starts slipping.
Future episodes will take a closer look at individual ROE departments as well as community organizations serving students and families throughout the county, including CASA Kane County and the Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission.
