The Kane County ROE is proud to serve as a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Hub. We are here to work with schools to support our students’ and educators’ social and emotional needs. Whether it’s help with a needs assessment, action planning process, or workshops related to SEL content, support and resources are available at no cost to you.

INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING

We have expanded our professional learning team to offer personalized instructional coaching services. We can assist with guiding and supporting you on your journey to becoming the most effective educator possible.  Through these services, our coaches can collaborate, consult, and support you in identifying learning goals and developing and implementing instructional approaches.

LEARNING PARTNER

As an approved Learning Partner through the Illinois State Board of Education, we are a member of a statewide system of support that works to ensure the successful implementation of school improvement plans. We are able to collaborate with districts across the state, align our approach with your school’s needs, and work alongside your staff to provide coaching in this professional learning journey.

PRINCIPAL MENTORING

Leadership matters. Research suggests that the second most important school-related factor impacting what students learn, right behind an effective teacher, is an effective principal. The Kane County ROE offers a mentoring/coaching program for principals and assistantprincipals who are in their first or second year of service.  The program’s goal is to help administrators achieve success in alignment with their school district’s vision and the unique needs of their school organization. Whether this involves analyzing your work-life balance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, or building stronger relationships with colleagues, we are here to help.

IN-DISTRICT PRESENTATIONS

Our team is available to visit your district and provide professional learning to your staff in a familiar setting. We can present at your next institute day or hold discussions and facilitate collaborative activities on a requested topic. We can provide sessions on, among others:

  • artificial intelligence

  • working with paraprofessionals

  • student engagement

  • improving communication

  • preventing educator burnout

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Our growing team possesses a range of certifications that allow us to address the unique needs of schools. Please contact us if you are looking to address a specific topic with your staff or need a thought partner for your next day of professional learning.

Online Courses

We provide timely and relevant support to educators in their journey to meet the ever-increasing demands of teaching and leading through a variety of synchronous and asynchronous online workshops. All offerings provide participants with research-based, relevant resources and help address the critical issues facing educators today.

Through these opportunities, educators are empowered to make immediate and long-lasting changes in their professional practice to help increase student achievement while also meeting their social and emotional needs.

Administrator Academies

By statute, every administrator must complete a minimum of one approved academy annually and a minimum of five in each administrator certificate renewal period.

The Illinois Online Academy provides a range of online academies that meet this criteria while providing research-based strategies to help you on you journey. Topics range from combatting educator burnout, meeting and presentation tips, restorative practices, and more.
