TEJAS KATIRA REPRESENTS KANE COUNTY
IN SCRIPPS SPELLING BEE
Larsen Middle School Student Makes U-46 Proud
Geneva, IL. (June 14, 2021) – On Saturday, Tejas Katira of Larsen Middle School competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, representing Kane County. This year’s bee looked different, with contestants participating in the contest virtually. The spellers were shipped all the required technology from Scripps so that they could participate. “We are exceptionally proud to sponsor the Spelling Bee and of Tejas for his hard work”, Patricia Dal Santo, Regional Superintendent of Schools.
His final word was ‘seraya.’
Tejas just completed 7th grade in District U – 46, and is looking forward to being in 8th grade next year!

Tejas is a big Chicago Sports fan! His favorite teams to watch are the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears. He also enjoys cooking food, running cross country, and chess.
